New Colony at California College of the Arts

Alpha Rho Chi welcomes the new Cossutius Colony. A six-column Greek temple

On Tuesday, February 13, the Grand Council accepted the petition of 15 students at California College of the Arts in San Francisco to be recognized as a colony of Alpha Rho Chi.

The new colony's cadency mark is a tribar. Also known as a Penrose triangle, the tribar depicts an impossible object when the shape is interpreted in three-dimensions. The tribar also can be seen to include an abstraction of the university initials "CCA." For more information, see the Wikipedia entry on the the tribar.

The Grand Council and national fraternity congratulates the students forming this colony – including colony president Zee Metheny – on this important milestone. Alpha Rho Chi looks forward to a future chapter at California College of the Arts.

Update: The colony has chosen Cossutius as its namesake. The Roman architect, Cossutius, was responsible for construction on Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens.
