2004 Demetrios Founders Day Celebration
October 29th & 30th, Columbus, Ohio
Dutch Knowlton, who died recently in 2003, was a strong and committed brother of Alpha Rho Chi, and on this weekend, The Ohio State University will dedicate the Austin E. "Dutch" Knowlton School of Architecture Building. In honor of this unprecedented achievement, the Demetrios Alumni Association will be holding their Founders Day Celebration in conjunction with this event. Any and all brothers are encouraged to attend in order to help the Demetrios Alumni Association achieve the goal of learning from other brothers to make their Alumni Association, and future Demetrios Colony as strong or stronger than it ever was.
Brothers:
The long awaited registration packet has been printed and mailed. You may have received one, but since we did not have everyone's postal mail address, we wanted you to know you could get the same packet online!
Just click on the following link, and the options for the registration packet and map/directions will be in front of you. Once you have downloaded the pdf file, print it and fill it out and please mail it to us as soon as possible. Registrations should be postmarked by the 18th (20th at the aboslute latest).
If you want to see more information about the new building, named after our late Brother "Dutch" Knowlton, please follow this link: Brother Knowlton.
If you have questions about the registration for this event, please do not hesitate to call me. (614)920-9627 home (614)451-8514
If you are planning to stay over night, I would suggest making your reservations as soon as possible, as this event occurs on a home game weekend, the places closest to campus will book up. (Those not closest, might be cheaper anyways...)
Also, the schedule for Saturday's activities are completely determine by the kick-off time of the OSU-Penn State game, and so far, the kick-off time has not been established. When it is, we will certainly let you know, so you can plan accordingly.
Thanks to all of you for your enthusiastic support of our efforts to rejuvinate the Demetrios Alumni Association and our future efforts to bring back the Demetrios Student Chapter. We need all the help, from our local and national brothers, that we can get, and for those who are able to come, your presence at our founders day events will strengthen all of us, and making fraternal memories we won't soon forget. It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since Demetrios Chapter hosted convention, and as one of the verses of our alma mater states "...time and change will surely show, how firm thy friendship OHIO." the same can truly be said of the Alpha Rho Chi Fraternity.
We hope to see you October 29th and 30th - register now!
Fraternally,
Eric Gilbey
