Alpha Rho Chi has a rich history dating back to its 1914 start. The primary goal remains to organize and unite in fellowship so as to promote the artistic, scientific and practical knowledge of younger members of the profession.

Xenocles Chapter was first established at The University of Texas at Arlington on September 13, 1970 and its distinguished members continue to serve the Fraternity, the University, the design professions and our community.

Xenocles was an architect during the Golden Age of Greece whose most noted works are the temples of Theseion (seen below) and the Erichtheion in Athens. He also contributed to the design and construction of the Propylea on the Acropolis. Xenocles' talents were very diversified. He was one of the Architects who superintended the construction of the Temple of Demeter at Eleusis in the time of Pericles.
