Phil Buckberg

Phil is a proud father, husband, and member of Alpha Rho Chi Fraternity. A native and lifelong resident of the Washington DC area, he lives in Olney, MD with his wife, Roberta, some dogs, and some kids when they’re in town.

Phil was initiated into the Metagenes Chapter of APX at Virginia Tech in 1982. In his fraternal life, he has served as the chapter’s Worthy Scribe, a Regional Deputy, Archi Editor, and Metagenes Alumni Association president and treasurer. He served as the fraternity’s second Worthy Grand Associate Architect after being elected at the 75th Anniversary Convention in 1989. After a brief 25-year stint off of the Grand Council, he was elected Worthy Grand Architect at the 69th Convention in 2016, and re-elected at the 71st Convention in 2018.

Phil is a vegan, an avid traveller, a chocoholic, the occasional grammar police, a volunteer at Circle of Hope Therapeutic Horseback Riding, an animal lover, and a sometimes political junkie and campaigner. He gets paid to be an IT Project Manager, with many years and a couple of certifications under his belt.
